1. The Day a Broken Mould Made Me Understand Everything

A few months ago a Mother of Dragons mould gave out on me. Fifth time that year. I was boiling fresh silicone at three in the morning, furious, when I realised something: the biggest problem in this niche isn’t design or material. It’s geography.

Before setting up the workshop in Castile, I was a customer myself. I ordered from American makers because they had the designs that drove me wild. And every time, the same ritual: attractive price on the website and then the reality check with shipping, taxes and weeks of waiting.

One day I read a Reddit thread that summed it up perfectly: between shipping and taxes, the cost almost doubled. And right below, someone else was asking the usual question: “Does anyone know how to get them in Europe?”. That was the last straw.

2. What It Really Costs to Bring a Relic from Texas

Bad Dragon is legendary. Full stop. But when you live in Europe and want one, the price you see on the website is only the beginning.

Shipping from the United States usually runs around $80-120. Then come the taxes, customs handling and, in many cases, weeks (sometimes months) of waiting. The result: a lot of people end up paying almost double the original price.

It’s not that Bad Dragon is bad. It’s that it’s on the other side of the Atlantic. And that has a real cost that nobody mentions in the pretty TikTok videos.

3. The Symmetry Nobody Mentions

What’s curious is that the problem is symmetrical. A European who wants a Bad Dragon suffers expensive shipping, eternal waits and unpredictable customs. An American who wanted one of our Summoned Editions would face exactly the same pain.

The difference is that we’re right next door. For anyone living in Spain or the European Union, the workshop that’s 800 or 2,000 km away is worth far more than the legendary one in Texas. This isn’t about attacking anyone: it’s about understanding geographical reality.

4. What You Can Have in 7-14 Days (No Surprises)

At ClimaxLab we manufacture in Spain. Full stop.

  • Mainland Spain: shipping in approximately 1 week.
  • Rest of Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands…): approximately 2 weeks.

The price you see on the website already includes Spanish VAT. There are no customs within the European Union. The only thing you pay on top is shipping.

And if you want a custom piece, it costs exactly the same as a stock one. You choose size (S, M or L), firmness (Soft 00-30, Medium 00-50 or Firm 10A) and base (flat, suction cup or Vac-u-lock). The colourway is up to you and the lead time is the same as for stock. There’s no surcharge for “made to measure”: for us, custom isn’t an extra, it’s the normal way of working.

(Not sure about size or firmness? We explain it all in our guide to choosing your size and in our guide to body-safe materials.)

5. The Summoned Editions: Unique Pieces That Won’t Be Restocked

We keep a series of one-of-a-kind units in stock, spread across our models.

When they sell, we don’t restock them. They are summoned editions, not mass-produced. That scarcity is real, it’s not marketing. And if none of them quite convinces you, we’ll make you a custom on the same terms.

6. Why This Changes the Rules for the Spanish-Speaking Customer

The fantasy toy niche has been dominated by American makers for years, and that has created the feeling that “the good stuff comes from far away”. But the reality is simpler: when you live in Spain or in Europe, having the workshop 1-2 weeks away is an enormous advantage. Not just for the final price, but also for the peace of mind of knowing your package won’t spend two months in customs and won’t arrive with a surprise €80 invoice.

7. The Castile Workshop vs. the Legendary One in Texas

I’m not telling you Bad Dragon is worse. I’m telling you that for you, living here, the workshop next door makes more sense. You get:

  • Predictable delivery (1 week in Spain, 2 in Europe).
  • Final price with no surprises.
  • Custom at the same price as stock.
  • Body-safe platinum silicone.
  • Vac-u-lock base for anyone who wants to connect with machines.

And above all: an artisan who replies to messages at three in the morning because a mould has given out on him and he’s boiling fresh silicone.
