Size Matters (But Not How You Think): A Guide to Choosing Your Ideal Dildo

Buying a toy online has one great enemy: the screen. In photos, everything looks the same size, and that relic you imagined as "manageable" can end up being an untameable giant (or vice versa).

1. Girth: Diameter or Circumference?

This is where 90% of people go wrong when buying online. It's vital to distinguish these two concepts to avoid nasty surprises.

• Diameter (Ø): The width of the toy measured in a straight line (the cross-section). Imagine cutting the toy in half and measuring the flat circle with a ruler. This is the measurement we usually list on the site (e.g. 4 cm, 5 cm).
• Circumference: The measurement around the outside. It's what you get if you wrap a sewing tape measure around the toy.

⚠️ The Workshop's Golden Rule: If you have a tape measure at home and you measure the circumference of something to compare (or your own body), divide that figure by 3.14 (the number π) to get the diameter. Example: If something measures 12 cm around, its diameter is about 3.8 cm.

Quick visual references:

• 3 cm - 3.5 cm (Diameter): Standard realistic size. Similar to two fingers together or the handle of a slim tennis racket.
• 4 cm - 4.5 cm (Diameter): Medium/large size. Similar to the cardboard tube inside a toilet paper roll.
• 5 cm - 6 cm (Diameter): Advanced size (XL). Similar to a standard soda can (which is usually 6.5 cm in diameter).

2. Total Length vs. Insertable Length

Don't be fooled by the height of the figure. A toy can look very tall, but a big part of that height may be the base.

• Total Length: What the whole piece measures from the ground to the tip. It includes the suction cup base, the ornaments or the creature's legs.
• Insertable Length: The usable part that can actually enter your body. It's measured from the top of the base (where it widens) to the tip.

💡 Expert Tip: If you're after deep-spot stimulation (like the G or P spot), look at the insertable length. But remember: with fantasy toys, which often have knots or irregular shapes near the base, sometimes you don't need to take it all in to enjoy it. Sometimes the wide base is part of the visual game!

3. The "Fantasy" Factor: Knots and Shapes

Our creatures are not perfect cylinders. Unlike realistic toys, here texture plays a key role.

• The Knot: Many models (tentacle or beast style) have a swelling near the base called a "knot". If you're a beginner, keep in mind that the knot's diameter is usually bigger than the shaft's.
• The Importance of Firmness: Size feels different depending on hardness.
  • A 5 cm toy in Soft Silicone (00-30) will compress and adapt to your body, feeling "smaller" and gentler.
  • That same toy in Firm Silicone (10A) will feel solid, massive, and will keep its 5 cm intact inside you.

4. The "Toilet Roll Test" (Do it at home)

Not sure whether 4.5 cm is a lot for you? Try this test right now, it's foolproof:

1. Take the cardboard tube from a used-up toilet paper roll.
2. Measure its diameter (it's usually about 4.5 cm).
3. Try passing your fingers through or visualise the size in your hand.
   • Does it look huge? Look for models from 3 cm to 4 cm.
   • Does it look standard? The M models (4 cm - 5 cm) are your comfort zone.
   • Does your hand fit through or does it look small? Dare to go L/XL (+5.5 cm)!

Conclusion: Your body rules

There's no size "better" than another. Some enjoy the fullness of an XL girth and some prefer the precision of a slim, agile toy.
